LG Review
With the exception of many scary generics, which most of them I do not know very well, the choices from the current Blu-ray system home theater are restricted to LG LHB336, Sony, Samsung, and Philips. I see several reviews on Onkyo, but this product is significantly high priced having the same features. I evaluated these players according to features and prices, I chose LG LHB336. I also found out that all the other models are 3D players, and very reasonably priced. I cannot give comment regarding the 3D display quality because the LG LCD TV does not possess such feature.
The well-labeled wire for speakers has no proprietary connection, and it can be extended easily for a bigger room. No Ethernet or HDMI cable. LHB336 does not include WiFi and no wireless speakers (rear) either.
The LHB336 has ipod dock that is sufficient although cheap. I have not tried using it oddly, although my iPhone is always on hand at all time. I primarily use my Pandora and MOG that can be connected into the system. I love seeing the TV showing the music app while the music is blasting over the speakers.
The remote is decently laid out; however, the tactile sense some kind of stinks. This is no big deal for me; I just need to press the buttons harder than usual. I’ve deployed the remote app in my iPhone, but please do provide the app with some keyboard functionality.
The LG LHB336 speakers look modern and sharp in flat black, although it is not protected with a cover. All the four surround speakers have identical looks. The subwoofer on the other hand, looks very nice having the same finish like the surround speakers. The center speaker used for vocals is attractive. The head-unit is wide, and the display has nothing extra-ordinary.
The sound quality of LHB336 for a surround is very reasonable for the price. I am happy with the sound quality as compared with the TV speakers. Although I am not an audiophile, I do love concerts and music. LG LHB336 meets my need when it comes to quality listening.
