So, what is the best home cinema setup procedure and does it really need to be done?

Well, too many people go out and spend lots of money on a home cinema system but do not then spend the time to set it up correctly and this is one of the most costly mistakes they can make.

The reason for this is because they could probably have got a much cheaper home cinema setup that would have sounded just as good.

As home cinema systems get more expensive they tend to have a lot more variables that you can change in their setup to improve and tweak the video and sound quality.

As mentioned in previous articles it is vitally important that you get the right setup in your room conditions to make it look and sound as good as possible but I understand that this is not always possible to do and so that’s when having some good home cinema setup options will really make your system shine.

Audio Home Cinema Setup

Almost all systems have basic bass, treble and mid range variables which can slightly help but in general these should be left at their default zero. As your system goes up the cost scale you will start to get a lot more setup features and so you should take full advantage of this rather than just assume the system is setup perfectly for you and your room conditions.

Some systems come with a microphone that you can position in the room to setup all the audio levels. Now this essentially takes into account your room conditions and balances the audio accordingly; the difference you will notice with this one step alone will be incredible. Now this does take some time and you need to put the microphone in many different positions for the system to get a good average reading but the result will be well worth the effort.

Video Home Cinema Setup

The video side is a little trickier and you probably wont get the tools that you need with the system you buy as they tend to be a lot more expensive but once again, it’s well worth the investment to make sure you get the picture quality setup correctly. The things you are going to find is that you will start to get a lot more clarity with the lights and darks so that you can see a lot more detail in each and every movie. It will probably be a real shock to most people when you realise what you have been missing all this time.
