Home Theatre HDMI Wiring?
I am running HDMI from the receiver to the HDTV. I’m planning to use a 35′ – 22awg HDMI cable (Silver plated wire) from the receiver to a single port wall plate. Then connect to the TV with a 6′ – 1.3a 24awg HDMI cable.
Is my wiring heavy enough to avoid excessive loss?
Will my picture and refresh rate be affected?
Steve – My only suggestion is to scrap the wall plate and just run a single HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. The only difference will be the wall plate will need a hole big enough to pass the cable through.
You get most of your loss and problems with connectors – with a wall plate, you are adding two unnecessary connectors to an already pretty long run for HDMI.
You don’t need boutique cables – monoprice has 35 foot CL2 “in wall” rated HDMI cables that should work great:
