Can you reconfigure Windows media center remotes functionality?

I have an HP DV9000 series laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have 2 media center remotes for it. One being a small PCI-E card style remote and one is a full size remote to work with the included RF reciever. Is there a way to reconfigure the remote functionality so when i press the windows button on the controller it opens another program? I am pretty savvy with computers so i have no problem making changes in the registry and things of that sort. Thanks!

I don’t think changing the registry will change button operations….you would have to work on scripts within a program to make changes like that….
