Quantum Introduces High-Speed and Intelligent RDX Backup Storage System

RDX cartridge technology is an attempt to combine the best features of tape storage including removability, portability and low cost with those of disk storage. The quantum RDX system is a combination of the removability and high capacity of tape with random file access and performance of disk, resulting in an efficient solution to the onsite and offsite data protection needs of small businesses and branch offices. The Quantum RDX cartridge system is fast, simple, reliable and compact disk based data protection system satisfying the backup and archive needs of today’s fast-paced businesses.

RDX cartridges feature a robustly designed mobile hard drive (2.5 inch), which is perfect for long term offsite storage. The cartridges are available in different capacities, which are 160GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and the highest 1 terabyte. One of the most reliable features that make it the best among the rest of the RDX cartridge systems is its speed, which is 45 Mbps. The Quantum RDX cartridge system completes backup in a shorter time frame and enables quick access to data for faster restores. It is very simple to use or can be called user friendly, no hunting through the incremental is required, and you can seamlessly manage the growing needs.

The Quantum RDX cartridge can with stand a drop of one meter to a hard surface without being damaged, and have a 30 year archive shelf life in normal office environment adding to its reliability. With the help of the duplication technology the cartridges can be used for months without filling up making it even more affordable. The Go-Protect software includes integrated protection of your Microsoft exchange email system and SQL server databases making it so much more powerful. Moreover government level security can also be supported with the highest level AES-256 bit encryption standard. In addition, the Quantum RDX cartridges and docking stations are reasonably priced.

The quantum RDX cartridge provides a compelling answer to the onside and offside data protection needs of small business and branch offices, as it combines the removability and high capacity of tape with the random file access and performance of disk.  The number of cartridges required for effective backup can be reduced to 20:1 with the help of the GoProtect software and with data duplication technology. Each time a backup operation is performance, the GoProtect only stores the data that has changed, thus extensively saving disk space. When data is restored, the software automatically reassembles the pieces so you get the complete data file.

All of Quantum RDX disk cartridges are read/record compatible and the users can also flexibly interchange them with all other available with any RDX docks. Choose the space-efficient docking station with USB or SATA interface, which can be easily integrated into a 5.25-inch desktop bay. Furthermore, the user-friendly USB dock is also available which can be easily connected within seconds. The dock has a lifetime of 10,000 load unload cycles and the cartridge has a lifetime if 5,000 load unload cycles. The unrecoverable error rate of these cartridges is 1 error in 1014 bits read. All the above features make the quantum RDX cartridges the most reliable efficient, cost effective and speedy solution to the long term back up storage needs of small business and branch offices.
