How do I connect mic through audio input/audio cal mic input in my sony home theatre?
I can’t believe my new sony home theatre doesn’t hav a normal mic input for karaoke and such..however I have an audio input/audio cal mic input hole that my normal mic fits into, but it doesnt work, so is there an adapter or anything I can use?
mics work and theres no other input.
The hole is just not meant to be for normal mics, its for sony’s auto calibration of the speakers and other devices such as mp3 players. But for what it does, it’s very similar to how a normal mic works and the plug fits!
Just no sound comes out =/
The cal mic input would not allow the sound from the mic to come out of the speakers anyway. It goes to a circuit inside that calibrates the levels on the speakers. If you want to plug a mic into a home theater receiver, just buy a simple microphone mixer. Then just connect the mic to the mixer and the “tape outs” on the mixer to an unused audio input on the receiver using normal red/white RCA cables. Here is a good cheap mixer that will work great:
