The Home Theater Guys

Best Home Theater audio brand?

What do you consider the best home theater system brand, what about Onkyo and JVC?? i have a friend with an Onkyo and sounds awsome high fidelity but the bass is not trully fulfiling, i have a JVC and sounds awsome also but its more powerful and has more bass what do you guys think?

The problem with the “all-in-one” or “Home Theater in-a-box” set-ups is that companies that make great stereos usually don’t make great speakers and sub woofers (and vice versa).

Making a 5-speaker and sub woofer system from scratch could run you $500 but it would sound much better…Down at the Circuit City you could get a Sherwood A/V receiver for $150, 5 (five) Pioneer bookshelf speakers for $150 and an MTX powered sub woofer for $200.

Hook it all together with “Cat5e” data wire instead of speaker wire…It’s a little thin, so send two runs to each speaker (one for positive and one for negative)…It’s only 17 cents a foot down at the hardware store, and it sounds great.

For interconnects (RCA cables) use RG6 capped with RCA connections on each end…This is super cheap, sounds way better than “Monster Cable” and is also available at your local hardware store…Try it and see.

In the spirit of Halloween, the night when evil is parodied in order to loosen the grip of dread–here are some weird people looming up out of the radio darkness, zombies wandering the hallways, a macabre secretary, psychopaths in the basement, the ghosts of bad actors, bats, worms, flies, Po…
